The construction crew was working hard this summer expanding the Lines School to add a second level with 21 more rooms. Lines School partners with Shalom Christian Reform Church and through their partnership and some generous donors we were able to complete a much needed expansion on the school. For the 23-24 year, the school was overflowing with students forcing the 10th grade class to meet at the end of a hallway to host class. As the school is continuing to add a grade each year students age up, for the 24-25 year, Lines School will reach 11th grade. The dream is that once the 12th and 13th grades have been added, we would be able to open up some vocational school opportunities in the classroom space on the second level. In addition to classroom space, the expansion will house the offices for our sponsorship program as well as the school computer lab.

The beautiful thing about this project is that not only is it a huge benefit to the Lines School but it was a huge source of income and job creation through the blockplant that made each block needed. In total the project used just over 16,000 blocks and employed over 100 people from shoveling sand and mixing cement, to painting and electricity of the completed building.
