The past couple months have meant new homes to 4 deserving families. Building homes has not always been a focus for Mission-Haiti but over the years we have seen such a great need in our community. Not only does a deserving family receive one of the most amazing gifts imaginable, but the process of building a home creates so many jobs for locals in need of work. It’s these homes as well as the construction projects across the ministry that keep our block plant in business. The idea to build a Block Company started around 2013 as Mission-Haiti saw the unavailability of good quality blocks for the various construction projects we were building. The Block Company provide state of the art cement blocks. The blocks are purchased by different individuals and business in our communities and have been used by MH to not only build homes for families in need but also schools, medical clinic, SAM elderly home and churches.
Fun Facts about the block plant:
~it is a self-sustaining part of our ministry
~it provides jobs to hundreds of employees each year through all steps needed to complete a construction project
~On any day of operation, the block plant creates an average of 800 bricks.
~The blocks are built to the highest standard, to make sure that all
construction is hurricane and earthquake proof.
In 2024, 288 locals received contract work through construction projects.
